When Mom was pregnant with me, her co-workers were appalled that they didn't get rid of out dog. They told her, "But the dog may bite the baby." To which, Mom wisely responded, "Then my baby will learn not to do what made our dog bite her." Dogs, like all animals, don't bite without cause. You shouldn't blame the dog for biting when legitimately threatened. I don't like Chihuahuas, but you don't just get rid of a dog for biting even your own child. You figure out WHY the dog bit & TRAIN YOUR DOG!
I've been bitten & scratched by all of my dogs, cats, birds, & mice. I never rehomed a single one. Never will.

I get where you’re coming from with the dogs but you’re wrong about the cats. Cats are not pets. Humans are. You have four cats because four cats chose you for your wisdom. You’re not going to doing anything even if a cat bit one of your kids. You’re the perfect father.
Yes Matt, some dogs are capable of moral choices. Not all. The truth is that some dogs are smarter than most humans. Most aren't even close, but some dogs are.
Chinawas are generally not one of those breeds however.
If you get a 5th cat, you will have definitely crossed into deranged person territory.
Dogs are a reminder of God's love; unconditional, loyal and constant. And what's the verse; "righteous are those who have concern for their beasts"
As a paper boy from 12 to 16 years old, I was bit multiple times by dogs on my route. Every one of those dog owners said – "My dog won't bite you", & then the dog bit me. To this day, I never trust any dog.
Just because you as a dog owner, really Love your dog & think it would never harm anyone, you should re-think this & consider that not every one is an animal lover.
My child’s safety comes first always. Dog bites, dog goes, won’t even hesitate.
Where I grew up, 60 years ago, a dog that bit someone was put down. If the chihuahua bit her children, why will it not bite her parents?
Not all pit bulls are bad, but more than a few are high-risk.

I adopted a shelter dog, a little crusty white one and he was a nightmare. He bit my daughter’s face twice he bit my face. He bit my friends on his face. He would make dogs on trails insane with his energy. I rehomed him to a retired lady, and then he bit her grandson’s face. Not all dogs are good.

WTF. Your children comes FIRST. What is wrong with people? And if you refuse to do anything about it you could be arrested for child endangerment, your child goes in to foster care and your dog goes to the animal shelter.

I've been trying to teach my chiwhatever to bite people, but all she can do is lick them, I guess some people are just born teachers.
If a dog bit my kid, I'd have a hard time not drop kicking it off a cliff.
Rehoming it to her parents is a pretty humane way to deal with it.
