Couples let their love shine this winter amid the charm and warmth of the Town of Occoquan. On Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, Prince William County Circuit Court Clerk Jacqueline C. Smith, in collaboration with the Town of Occoquan, hosted the second annual Seal the Deal, a signature civil wedding experience.

Set against Occoquan’s historic streets and waterfront views, the event took place at Madigan’s Waterfront, a fine dining restaurant along the Occoquan River. Nineteen couples exchanged vows in courthouse-style ceremonies beneath a handcrafted arch, surrounded by family and friends. The elegant simplicity of the ceremonies kept the focus on each couple, offering a romantic alternative to traditional wedding planning.

Following the ceremonies, couples enjoyed celebratory refreshments and “wedding cupcakes” at Madigan’s.

Local businesses contributed to the festivities, transforming Seal the Deal into a full community celebration.
The Circuit Court Clerk’s Office extends gratitude to the Town of Occoquan and the local business community for their generosity in providing wedding gifts to the couples. Contributions came from Madigan’s Waterfront, Ballywhack Shack, Brandon’s Flowers, Curate, Evidi Massage, Forever Young, Glory Be, Hello Jackson, Hitchcock Paper, Jerry’s Occoquan Jewelers, Leaf & Petal, Mark Summerson Photography, and Occoquan Outfitter. Together, these partners helped create a day where love stories unfolded in a town sparkling with romance, community, and holiday magic.

In February 2026, the Clerk will host her annual Valentine’s Day Bash, inviting couples to come together once again for romantic civil unions. For updates and information about civil ceremony events, follow @PWCCircuitCourt on social media or visit pwcva.gov/department/circuit-court.
