Coronation Street’s Helen Flanagan brutally slammed her footballer ex Scott Sinclair earlier this week and a cryptic post on his social media could be a rebuttal against the actress.Helen Flanagan (R) with partner Scott Sinclair and their daughter Matilda

Former Celtic star Scott Sinclair has appeared to have hitt back at his ex Helen Flanagan in a cryptic social media post after she labelled him a “d**khead”. The winger, who signed for the Hoops under Brendan Rodgers in 2016, and his ex-fiance share three children, Matilda, Delilah and Charlie.

Since their split, Helen shared insights into her relationship with her ex through interviews and on Instagram. Recently, she re-shared pictures of Scott attending the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to her stories with the words: “You really are a piece of s***. How dare you not turn up to Charlie’s nativity.”

Though Scott did not publicly respond, some have taken his most recent posts to social media to be a subtle dig at his ex and her words. He shared a video to his stories in which he could be seen spending quality time with his children, reports the Mirror.

In the video, he was kicking a football with Delilah, as Matilda and Charlie watched. Scott wrote over the clip: “When she strolls in like she’s just won an award.”

He added Myles Smith’s song My Home over the top, including the lyrics: “You’ll always be my home, my heart. I’ll be wherever you are. My home, my heart, I feel you with me when we’re worlds apart. You’ll always be my home.”

The story, which seems to emphatically stress how connected Scott is to his children, comes just days after Helen publicly called him a “d**khead”. Talking to the Daily Mail this week, Helen said: “He’s a d**khead, but I will always have love for him.”

She added: “I don’t like him.” She continued to say that she doesn’t think he likes her either and that their relationship since the break up has been “hellish” and “very challenging”.

The star said they had a “very bad relationship” when they were together and now only communicate via her father. Cryptically, she added that “there is so much worse” she could say.

In her book Head & Heart, Helen made further admissions. She said that she suffered a mental health crisis after their split and became convinced that a neighbour was working with Scott to have her killed.

“I’d got it into my head that one of my neighbours was trying to kill me,” she wrote. “I’d concocted this ludicrous story that he was a drug smuggler, working with my ex-fiancé, the former Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa footballer Scott Sinclair.”

She added that Scott wasn’t the only one she had intrusive thoughts about. She said her mind became a “battlefield” as she would have horrifying thoughts, including one about throwing her baby daughter down the stairs of her home.

These disturbing thoughts, she explained, “were vivid and often violent. It was brutal and relentless. I loved [my daughter] so much that I ached, and that’s what made the thoughts all the more unbearable.”

Scott’s representatives were contacted for comment about his post.
