Oasis star Liam Gallagher has addressed his future neighbours in the Cotswolds as he took to X (formerly Twitter) to declare: “I come in peace”.

The ‘Wonderwall’ singer recently purchased a sprawling £4.25 million property in the tiny village of Coates, four miles outside Cirencester, which previously belonged to former Arsenal captain and manager Tony Adams.

And now, Gallagher has posted about his new home on X. Early on Saturday morning (January 24), the 53-year-old wrote: “To all the BEAUTIFUL people from the Cotswolds, I come in peace. You won’t even know I’m there, I’m not like all those divvy celebrities who like to show off, I’m LO FI.”

His post comes after his soon-to-be neighbours in Coates responded this week to the news of a new famous face moving into the neighbourhood.

One woman said there was ‘an air of excitement and anticipation’, and added: “It’s a friendly village so we’ll make him welcome. I’m sure he’ll have a very nice time here, even if it’s just his country residence. And we’ll be excited if we see him and his family.”

Another local said: “Good for him. He’s got a nice house there, by the looks of it. If that’s how he wants to spend his millions and millions of pounds, then fair enough.”

However, one less impressed Coates resident grumbled: “Oh, that idiot? I don’t like him, I can’t stand Oasis. But I’m not bothered where he lives.”

Meanwhile, in response to Gallagher’s post on X, one hopeful woman commented: “Any chance of a pic and a natter with you then, as I live nearby?”. However, the singer responded: “Nooooooooooooo, only kidding.”
