Andy Smith, from organisers the Futuresound Group, said the company would continue building on its relationship with the castle in the future.
“We’ll make next year’s concerts even bigger and even better,” he added.
Gemma England, the general manager of Ludlow Castle, described Weller as a “legend” and said it was “shaping up to be another fantastic run of shows”.
Weller, who formed The Style Council after the break up of The Jam in 1982, has also performed by himself, releasing 17 solo albums.
A Future Sound spokesperson said he was a “figurehead of forward-thinking British songwriting” who had been “an indelible influence on over 50 years of British music”
He will be joined on 17 July by Miles Kane, co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets, plus Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys and Fiona-Lee.
