The Traitors Issues Statement on “Cyberbullying” of Cast | E! News
As ‘The Traitors’ season four continues, the Peacock series issued a statement addressing the “cyberbullying” and “harassment” of its cast. The Jan. 24 statement read on X (formerly Twitter), “We are committed to making our casts feel safe, respected, and supported—on screen and off. The cast of ‘The Traitors’ are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment. There’s a difference between discussing a show and targeting individuals.” Days earlier season 4 contestant Ron Funches revealed that fans’ discussions about his time on the show led him to discover he was on the autism spectrum. He wrote in part on his Instagram Stories Jan. 22, “Well the Internet told me I was autistic and was right. Where were they when Dan was insulted by the Banana and the Slanderer? Or when Danielle was the victim of vicious lies about cheating and what not?
Maybe don't hire genocide supporters if you don't want your cast targeted.
What I don't understand, is why would anybody even go and do that to the cast? It happened on Dancing with the Stars, where people were campaigning to get Whitney out, and now here, people are cyberbullying and harrassing the cast? I can only imagine what will happen to the cast of Survivor 50. It's like we're in an era, where notable people can't even compete on reality tv shows. Not even normal people, because people had to get angry with Sophi from Survivor 49, for not stealing Rizo's idol. Like, everything that happens on these shows has already or is happening, where it's out of our control. They're out there doing something fun, or doing it cause they need to change their image, or for money. Like, if people can't handle the controlled edit of today, then they shouldn't watch how reality shows were from the early 2000's through like the 2010's, where craziness and drama were desired on our screens.
Interesting when it happens to a white person it's cyberbully but if it happens to a black person just another day 🤔. I don't have the energy this year. WE WILL KEEP THE COMMENTARY GOING AND NEVER LET UP!!! THIS YEAR WE WILL BE HOLDING PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE.
Oh they need to address this because they plan next season to be pure civilian version and not reality stars anymore.
