These days, Moore is better known for her waist-grazing brunette tresses, though she’s experimented with much shorter and lighter lengths in the past: the Oscar nominee debuted a blonde pixie cut in 1990.
Moore also sported blonde hair in the 2020 series Brave New World, which was an adaptation of Aldous Huxley’s iconic novel.
Speaking to People earlier this month, Moore explained why she’d likely never rock a short hairstyle again. The 63-year-old said that aging has taught her to be “more thoughtful about” her hair care routine.
Moore famously shaved her head for her role in G.I. Jane, and later opted for a cropped haircut in Ghost.

“Partnering with a brand that I already use felt natural,” Moore, Kérastase’s new global ambassador, said. “It isn’t just about repair, it’s about care that creates longevity.”
Moore shared that when she visits the salon nowadays, she prefers a slight trim, or “just a dusting.” “I’m protective of the length, so it’s about health over inches,” she added.
“It feels most like me,” Moore said of her ultra-long lengths. “At the end of the day, I love taking it down, seeing my hair fall past my waist. It’s like coming home.”
The Substance star also said her G.I. Jane buzz cut “probably was the most illuminating experience and one that deepened my appreciation for my hair!”
