Katie Price and Lee Andrews tied the knot in an intimate Dubai ceremony with just one other person present. Katie, 47, has now flown back to the UK to face her family after her ‘quickie’ wedding, with them having no idea she was set to get married.

Darryl Rees, a part-time DJ and MC, was the man who married Katie and Lee in a symbolic ceremony in Dubai, UAE, just hours after they announced the shock news of their engagement online. Katie only recently confirmed her split from MAFS star JJ Slater after almost two years together.

However, it has now emerged that Katie might not be legally married to Lee. The wedding took place at One and Only Royal Mirage, a luxurious hotel on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah island, but it’s possible the wedding is not legal.

Lee got in touch with Darryl about the wedding on the day he and Katie got engaged, but there are concerns that the marriage might not be legalised unless Katie and Lee follow an important next step.

Darryl told the Daily Mail: “I think they mentioned that they were going to get the wedding legalised the day after on the Monday. From what I’ve heard, it’s a pretty straightforward process, but what I do is a symbolic wedding. I’m like the showman, and then they get married in the courts with all the paperwork.

“When Lee messaged me on the Saturday, he said ‘I want to do a wedding with my fiancée’. Then he gave me the names as Lee Andrews and Katie Price, and I was a bit taken aback, so I wasn’t that surprised when I saw it was indeed her the following day.”

Sharing some more details, Darryl revealed that the couple were very down to earth and seemed “madly in love”, while he tailored the ceremony to them and their 11:11 tattoos of each other’s names.

A wedding expert from Dubai has explained that many people undertake a “symbolic ceremony” either before or after their legal nuptials, and it is common practice for brides and grooms to have two weddings in Dubai.

However, amid the claims that they are “not really married”, Lee took to Instagram again to share a Story, which read: “Wife sounds so much better than girlfriend.”

Meanwhile, the star’s second husband Alex Reid recently told The Mirror how he was stunned by her shock wedding. He said: “Is he going to move to the UK? Or is she going to move to Dubai? I don’t get her. I was married to her, and I don’t get her. I don’t think she knows herself.”
