Helen Flanagan has spoken out for the first time after it was revealed her ex is selling the family home. Helen and Scott Sinclair split years ago but they share three children together – Matilda, 10, Delilah, seven, and Charlie, four.

The former Coronation Street star is still living in the family home in Bolton she once shared with Scott. However, he is hoping to sell the property to release funds and the decision has left Helen heartbroken.

Speaking to The Mirror, Helen said: “His decision to sell the family has broken my heart. His reason for selling is financial, as he isn’t currently signed to a football club, but it makes me angry when he spends money on fancy holidays and constant trips to Dubai.

“Scott has other properties he could sell, too – his mother lives in a house similar to mine and yet that hasn’t been put up for sale. I worry about my future and my security.”

She later admitted she is worried about how she can afford everything her children need. She added: “I have to work constantly to make ends meet. He’s the father of my kids, but their dad’s a wealthy guy, you know?”

A source previously claimed that Scott has decided to sell the property after putting it up for sale for £1.5million last May. It was then reduced twice and is now on sale for £995,000.

“Scott wants to sell to take the money out, but he hasn’t found Helen or the kids a new place. He’s not being reasonable. He and Helen are not on the same page,” one source claimed.

Another added: “Helen doesn’t want to move and is digging her heels in. She loves the place, the kids are settled at the local school and her mum and dad live around the corner. Scott wants to buy Helen a four-bedroom home. He’s even offered to put it in her name but wants to stop the maintenance payments.”

In her interview with The Mirror, Helen said that she is hopeful her book Head and Heart will help others who are struggling with their mental health. She said: “When you talk about mental health, it saves people’s lives. And it makes you feel less on your own.

“It’s not just going to go away. Sometimes your brain is wired more differently – mine is. And mental health is something that’s in my family as well. I have three children that are half me, so I have tried to be more educated about mental health and how to deal with it in healthy ways – because maybe one day one of my children might have some struggles. For me, healthy ways are therapy, talking and exercise. It feels like everything’s coming together now. I’ve come a long way and I’m really proud of myself.”
