A popular OnlyFans star has spoken of her guilt regarding the eye-watering amount one terminally ill fan has spent on her.
The online platform has skyrocketed in recent years, with users paying often extortionate fees for personal pictures and chats with whomever they choose.
Such is its popularity that celebrities such as Lily Allen and Denise Richards (who joined with her daughter), have even dipped their toes in as an extra source of income.
While it might provide a safer option for young women than the world of sex work and pornography once did, as things can be done on their own terms, the ethics behind the business have always been questioned, particularly when vulnerable people are perhaps influenced into spending money.
Like many others, Skylar Mae, a 21-year-old from the US, has found fame and fortune through the site, although one of her biggest fans is supporting her from his hospice bed.
Skylar revealed: “He reached out to me through my OnlyFans account, after finding me on Instagram. When I asked him about himself, he told me, ‘Okay, this is my story: I am literally living in a hospital’.

“He has told me about all his health issues and sends me daily updates from his hospital bed.”
Despite telling her that he only has around ‘a month to live’, he can spend anywhere between three and five hours speaking to Skylar each afternoon depending on his energy levels.
Over the past two and a half months, the terminally ill man has spent a whopping $102,000 (£74k) on Skylar, who enjoys ‘helping him every day’ as he’s alone in hospital.
Whether or not she’d be helping him without the massive financial motivation is anybody’s guess.
She added: “I do feel guilty about how much he’s spending on me, but I always tell him it’s not necessary. He wants to spend his money on me though.
“He doesn’t have anyone checking on him. He likes to joke with me, enjoys seeing photos of my dogs and he likes one-on-one messaging where I give him my full, dedicated time.
“It makes me feel good knowing I’m helping someone through such a terrible time in life, at the end of the day it’s not about the adult content but the one-on-one connection!”

The adult content creator suggested that her fan does have two kids but no wife, and since he is often stuck in hospital alone, she is the only way he can have any ‘real’ company.
He’s even undergone a lot of surgeries in recent weeks which have limited the amount of time and money he has been able to spend on Skylar: “It’s really horrible, so I’m glad I can be a distraction to him and make his day better.”
Remarkably, he isn’t the only terminally ill subscriber who Skylar is aware of, with her big heart meaning that she always wants to spend more time with those who are ill, which some may argue would include anyone who is willing to spend a significant amount of money on an online sex platform.
She concluded: “I get very emotional with these clients because I know how it feels with my own parents having health issues.
“I know how lonely you can feel when you are unwell so I love to give these subscribers extra time.”
