ORLANDO, Fla. – MEGACON Orlando is returning March 19 to 22, 2026, bringing four days of pop culture celebration to the Orange County Convention Center. Andrew Moise, vice president of Fan Expo HQ, which runs MEGACON, shared details about what fans can expect this year.
“This is one of a few shows across the nation that are as big as MEGACON,” Moise said. “It is so exciting to have it right here in Orlando. The show of this scale is able to bring star power. A lot of people come to these events to meet the heroes, to have those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to meet the stars of legacy and new shows. I am really excited to say that once again this year, MEGACON is going to deliver.”

Among the headliners, fans will see a rare reunion of all four hobbits from “The Lord of the Rings,” celebrating 25 years since the films debuted. Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd will be on stage together, offering photo opportunities, autographs and a special panel experience.
“There are not many titles that stand the test of time like that,” Moise said. “To get these four actors, who still have busy schedules, together in one place is truly exciting. They have been doing a bit of a tour through our events this year, and every appearance has been different. After our presentation, you never quite know what is going to happen. It is a great night out.”
Orlando Bloom will also join the event, adding to the “Lord of the Rings” celebration. Other notable guests include John Cena, who brings a huge wrestling and screen following, as well as comic book legends Jim Lee, Frank Miller and Joe Quesada.

“The website is critical,” Moise said. “We post updates not just about celebrities but also the programming schedule, floor plan and more. Some things come through at the last minute, so subscribing to our channels is the best way to not miss anything.”

For first-timers and returning attendees, Moise offered advice. “Costumes are optional, but cosplay is a great way to celebrate characters and connect with fellow fans. If you are not into cosplay, you are more than welcome to come out of costume and just celebrate that way. The website is your roadmap. Explore every inch before you get there to build a plan. There is so much to see and do that without a plan, you might miss something you really wish you had caught.”
Cosplay will be a major highlight again this year, with the Masters of Cosplay Grand Finale taking place at MEGACON. “We are doing qualifiers across North America, culminating in the final cosplay top at MEGACON,” Moise explained. “This is the first time we are doing the big ceremony here, bringing the best of the best for one final judging. It is always a banner event.”

Additional special experiences include an after-hours event at Universal Orlando Resort, where attendees can enjoy select rides and attractions, and Anime After Dark, featuring anime voice actors, activations, music and a dance party.

Moise emphasized the importance of community at MEGACON. “This is truly about celebrating pop culture with like-minded people who are there to have fun. Everyone is welcome. It is a place for all ages and fandoms to come together and have an awesome weekend.”
When asked about his favorite part of MEGACON, Moise said, “For me, it is like a massive jigsaw puzzle putting it all together. One of the most exciting moments is Thursday when the doors open and 99% of the puzzle pieces are in place. It is a relief but also hugely exciting because it is such a big event for fans, exhibitors and the convention center. Seeing fans meet their heroes is extraordinary. It can be electric and very moving.”
He concluded with a promise for attendees. “You will walk away feeling a sense of togetherness. We went through a couple of years where we could not come together, and nothing replaces that feeling. This is about community, sharing a love for passionate fandom and feeling truly fulfilled by a great weekend of celebration.”
