Katie Price’s ex-boyfriend JJ Slater has said he suspects she met her new husband months ago, long before they broke up.
The former Married at First Sight star, 33, was in a relationship with the former glamour model, 47, for two years, but they broke up earlier this month. Then shortly after, news emerged that Katie had married Dubai-based businessman Lee Andrews, just days after meeting him.
Although rumours that Katie and JJ had broken up circulated for weeks, she confirmed the break-up on The Katie Price Show podcast, stating she “didn’t want to waste her time” and that their relationship had been “over for months” despite them spending Christmas together. JJ said he was “blindsided” by the end of the relationship, which reportedly happened on their sofa just days into the new year when Katie told him she no longer loved him.

Following the break-up, JJ jetted off to Miami to “heal his broken heart” and has since unfollowed Katie on social media after her surprise wedding. In an interview with The Sun, JJ also voiced suspicions that Katie may have been seeing her new husband as far back as last summer, noting that she repeatedly extended a trip to Dubai during that time.
He told the publication: “Kate was in Dubai last summer and she extended her stay there a couple of times. I’m so laid-back and chilled, I had no problem with that. Do your thing, have fun.
“She was with her friends. The only thing that I would want is a call or a message a day, just checking in, that kind of thing. But again, I’d know there was no problem.” JJ added he was left confused when Katie asked a mutual friend to pick her up from the airport when she returned home, saying he found it “quite weird” that she wouldn’t ask him to pick her up after being away for two weeks.
Despite this, he said he didn’t think anything untoward was happening, even though he thought her actions were “a bit strange”. He also claimed that over Christmas, Katie asked him whether he had shared any photos of them – which he hadn’t done – and he said he questioned whether she didn’t want a picture of them together to be published in case “something else” was going on.

However, JJ said he doesn’t want to chase his ex for answers and her wishes both her and Lee well. A source previously revealed to The Mirror that JJ got “cold feet” over his romance with Katie. “This has been on the cards for a long time. Katie was pushing for marriage and security but JJ had checked out,” they said.
“The age gap didn’t matter at the start but the cracks started to appear and her urgency for another baby and for a wedding put a lot of pressure on him. She’s fixated on being with someone and being in a long, stable relationship so in the end she was like, ‘Right, you either marry me, or you don’t.’ It was all or nothing.
“JJ wasn’t up for all the drama that comes with being with Katie Price and he got cold feet.” Before being with JJ, Katie dated Carl Woods but she said she was “no longer afraid of being on my own” days before meeting her new man.
Katie said she met Lee online just days before going to Dubai to see him last week. They quickly got engaged and then married.
