Michael McIntyre’s Big Show was back on Saturday for a new episode, but viewers were left emotional as a star guest became teary during a surprise reunion

A comedy legend was left in tears after only a few minutes in his appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
On Saturday evening (January 31), BAFTA award-winning comedian Michael McIntyre returned with his unmissable night of family entertainment filmed at the prestigious Theatre Royal Drury Lane, in London.
The first guest to appear on the BBC One show was Frank Skinner, who took part in a hilarious, but very emotional game of Remember Me.
The challenge sees a celebrity guest presented with a succession of people from their past rising into the middle of the stage through a trap door, and the celebrity has to remember who each person is. The first person to appear was Shayda, Frank’s optician, followed by Jeff, who went to primary school with Frank.

However, the third person from Frank’s past was Cathy, who delivered Frank’s son 13 years ago. As the doctor walked on stage, Frank glanced over and seemed to recognise her instantly.
“If you are who I think you are, are you Cathy?” Frank asked as the studio audience started cheering.
The comedian started to look emotional as he explained his connection to the show’s guest: “This is Cathy, Cathy delivered my baby, and he’s actually here tonight, he’s 13 now.
“It was actually an emergency caesarean and Cathy put her scrubs on and was totally in control, and handed me this beautiful baby.”

Cathy also looked teary-eyed as Frank fought back tears, then left his chair in the royal box and headed down to the stage to reunite with her.
Frank hugged Cathy and said, “Thank you so so much”, as she replied, “I’m so pleased to see you”, as Frank wiped tears away from his eyes. He added, “What an amazing woman she is, honestly.”
“You handed me the most amazing gift I have ever had in my entire life, Cathy. Thank you so much”, Frank said before Cathy left the stage.
Michael McIntyre’s Big Show viewers were also left touched by Frank and Cathy’s reunion. Taking to X, one person wrote: “Well, I didn’t have blubbing at Frank Skinner on my bingo card EVER #michaelmcintyresbigshow.”

A second stated: “Not me crying cos Frank Skinner is crying cos Cathy is there who delivered his son 13 yrs ago #michaelmcintyresbigshow”, while a third declared: “I love Frank Skinner #BigShow.”
“Frank Skinner remembering Kathy (sic) is one of the best and most genuine things I’ve watched on television”, announced one viewer.
“Frank Skinner. Brilliant comedian and now an unexpected National Treasure (love heart). Wonderful stuff”, penned another.
