A storm isn’t going to stop Catherine from walking. Pic: Prince and Princess of Wales
We know she likes the great outdoors, but this week Catherine showed just how committed she is to spending time in nature, when she took a walk in the Peak District, during Storm Chandra.
A little bit of rain wasn’t going to put off the Princess of Wales, who joined the Mind Over Mountains charity for a guided walk in the National Park, on Wednesday, to show how nature and mindful movement can help mental health and wellbeing.
“Nothing is going to stop us,” she declared to the group as she arrived at Curbar Gap, Derbyshire, before they set off to walk along Baslow Edge. Clad in a tweed cap, scarf and Dubarry waxed jacket, she was full of energy, despite the January cold and rain.

And there was a funny moment when she was caught on camera telling the dallying group to hurry up, saying, “We need to get going!” as they tramped through the mud and puddles. We’re sure they all felt a great sense of achievement at the end of it. “Inspiring to witness how these programmes help people reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and find calm in a supportive environment,” she posted on Instagram.
We love a good walk and run in the countryside (well, Kerry does, lol) and can attest getting out in nature is great for body and soul… however, we have to admit, we’d have probably headed straight to the pub fireside in this weather. So hats off to Catherine, or rather, hats on, in this rain.
Joining a star-studded congregation at London’s Southwark Cathedral, Camilla celebrated the late Dame Jilly Cooper, one of her closest friends, who died last October, aged 88, after a fall in her Gloucestershire home.
The adored author, famous for her ‘bonkbusters’ such as Riders, Rivals and Polo, would have loved her memorial service. The Friday event was by invitation only and we spotted actors Dame Joanna Lumley, David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner, Danny Dyer and Rupert Everett, and broadcasters Gyles Brandreth and Clare Balding. Jilly’s creation, the seducer and showjumper Rupert Campbell-Black, who appears in The Rutshire Chronicles, is said to be partly based on the Queen’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, who attended the service, alongside Camilla and their son, Tom.
Paying tribute to Jilly shortly after her death, Camilla said: “May her hereafter be filled with impossibly handsome men and devoted dogs.”
Charles and Camilla launched his ‘Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision’ at Windsor Castle this week, supported by The Duchess of Edinburgh and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The documentary, narrated by actress Kate Winslet, outlines Charles’s philosophy of Harmony, which encourages us to see ourselves as part of nature, not apart from nature. Finding Harmony charts how the model of sustainable community regeneration at Dumfries House, pioneered by The King’s Foundation, has inspired similar projects around the world.
You can watch Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision,on Prime Video from Friday 6 February.

She’s the champion of all things literary and we loved that Camilla hosted a special screening of Hamnet, the Golden-Globe-winning adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, in the Mayfair Hotel, London. on Tuesday. Organised by The Queen’s Reading Room, she met author Maggie O’Farrell and cast members Joe Alwyn and Jacobi Jupe, as well as viewing costumes from the movie. “A story that stays with you long after the final scene…” she posted and we’re sure she wept like the rest of us, during the screening. The movie is up for eight Oscars, including Best Film, Best Actress and Best Director, at the ceremony on March 15. And if you’re inspired to see where it’s filmed, read Kerry’s Hamnet Holiday guide at The British Travel List.

It’s not every day you pass a smiling Sovereign while you’re out jogging. Which is exactly what happened to the Sandringham parkrun participants this Saturday when the King made a surprise visit to cheer them on, ahead of World Cancer Day on 4 February.
This is the second year running that Charles has attended the event, organised in partnership with Move Against Cancer. We love this pic of him with a parkrun marshal, Sarah Byatt and her fantastic sign: “Yes!!! that really was His Majesty The King on your first lap!”
