Howard Stern’s fans are concerned about him — and the future of The Howard Stern Show — after the legendary shock jock reportedly missed the Monday, February 2 episode.
According to The U.S. Sun, several fans took to Reddit to discuss the absence and point out that it’s not the 72-year-old broadcaster’s first in recent weeks, leading to questions if something is amiss behind the scenes.
“The channels are so dead and they have been for a long time. There is very little live or original content,” one Reddit user wrote.

“I don’t know why Sirius even bothers,” another commented of the absence.

“Why would Sirius keep paying the staff for very little effort? The ego maniac with the wig should give them at least a few hours each week doing their own shows,” a third user complained. “Hopefully, at least a couple of them would be capable of not completely embarrassing themselves.”
In December, Stern revealed that The Howard Stern Show — which originally debuted in 1982 before moving over to SiriusXM in 2005 — would be coming back following lengthy contract negotiations.
“I am happy to announce that I have figured out a way to have it all,” he said on the December 16 episode of The Howard Stern Show. “The announcement is that we’re going to be partnering with SiriusXM and [will] continue to entertain for the next three years.”

He added, “I’m excited about it because I do still love radio.”
