While in Dubai, CNN’s Eleni Giokos questioned Edward, 61, at the World Governments Summit on Tuesday, February 3, about how he was handling the release of the latest set of Epstein-related documents.
“Well, with the best will in the world, I’m not sure this is the audience that is probably the least bit interested in that,” the Duke of Edinburgh said. “They all came here to listen to education, solving the future.”

He added, “But no, I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims, and who are the victims in all this, a lot of victims in all this.”
His statement on Tuesday made Edward the first royal family member to publicly comment on his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor inclusion in the Epstein files.
More than 100 photos were made public on Friday, January 30, including three featuring Andrew, 65. In the images, the former prince appears with a fully clothed woman whose face was obscured. Two photos show Andrew placing his hands on the unidentified woman’s stomach and waist, while a third appears to depict him kneeling over her body on all fours while looking directly into the camera.
Us Weekly has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment regarding Andrew’s affiliation with the disgraced billionaire.

Andrew’s alleged ties to Epstein have remained in the spotlight since 2019, when the late Virginia Giuffre accused the royal of sexual assault. Giuffre, who died by suicide at age 41 in April 2025, claimed Andrew sexually assaulted her in 2001 when she was underage. She filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against Andrew in 2021, which was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount of money the following year. Andrew, who was stripped of his titles and evicted from his home, has consistently denied the allegations.
Epstein died by suicide at age 66 in August 2019 while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York on child sex trafficking charges.
