Jason Momoa is no stranger to Birmingham, in fact he has been quite a few times, even holding the title of an ‘honorary Brummie’ to some.
The Aquaman star has not been shy about his love for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, describing how much of an impact it had on his youth, and even his life now.
Jason’s love for the band is so deep that during the Back to the Beginning gig at Villa Park last year, only weeks before Ozzy’s death, the actor was asked to host the grand show.
Thousands crowded Birmingham’s streets on January 5, and amongst those shouting their support for Sabbath was Jason himself, who was hosting the large rock event.

Jason has been nothing short of gushing about our city, and while speaking at his Meili vodka launch at Harvey Nichols today (February 2) he explained how ‘Birmingham was there for him’ during the Back to the Beginning tour.
He confessed the experience was “terrifying” for him, but the Brummies were incredibly welcoming.
Jason told BirminghamLive: “It was terrifying. I needed to get out there, shout out to the world, and Birmingham was there for me, and they were really cool, and they treat me nice.”
He went on to address his decision to jump into the crowd during the Black Sabbath event, which many fans will already know about as a viral clip of the actor showed him enjoying himself at Pantera last July.
Speaking of the moment, he said: “There’s a certain point where I was jealous of the crowds, that’s why I got my a** in it,” adding he wanted to be around other fans out in the crowds instead of on the stage.
Jason also identified the one particular point during Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s set which he is intending to “take to his deathbed.”

He said: “Towards the end I got a really beautiful moment I’ll take to my deathbed. I was just watching Ozzy pretty close and being able to just watch him and Geezer [Butler] […] and I just love him, love him, love him.”
“It’s nice to be a fanboy,” he added, “It just comes from your heart and here’s the eight year old me freaking out.”
Jason rounded off: “Thank you, Birmingham.”
