As police continue the search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mom Nancy Guthrie, they have spoken out amid reports of a possible suspect in the case. “At this point, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest,” Sheriff Chris Nanos’ statement, shared to social media Feb. 4, read. “Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie.” The statement continued, “While we appreciate the public’s concern, the sharing of unverified accusations or false information is irresponsible, and does not assist the investigation.” The update comes just days after Nancy, 84, was reported missing Feb. 1, following a possible abduction from her home. Days later, the sheriff’s department said that they had become aware of possible ransom notes that had been circulating, and emphasized in a statement they were “taking all tips and leads very seriously. I'll never understand the whole ransom thing. Has it ever worked for the perpetrator? Not sure I believe the note was real, especially since it was sent to media outlets, like TMZ. Wouldn't one send it to the family and not TMZ?These days, people will do anything to create drama. Def do not have a good feeling about her well being.
