Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing new humiliation after being told to obey a new order amid his move to Sandringham.

The disgraced former prince, who this week was told by the King to leave his 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor after heaping further shame on the royal family following his appearance in the latest Epstein files, must make official arrangements to return to his former home by telling royal aides whenever he is returning to the monarch’s Berkshire estate instead of returning as he pleases.

The Mirror understands Mr Mountbatten-Windsor, who was stripped of all his titles and honours by the King in October, left Royal Lodge in a hurry on Tuesday evening, leaving behind many of his belongings that have not already been placed into storage. Sources say Andrew will have to return to collect them, but may only do so after making an official request and appointment. One insider said: “It’s the latest in a long line of indignities for him.

“The King was not amused in the slightest that his brother was seen out riding in Windsor and driving around the estate, waving to passers by, while the Epstein scandal was reaching more depths over the last few days. Andrew has left quite a lot of belongings behind, so he will have to return and collect them, but may only do so by strict appointment.”

Andrew will for the time being live in his late father Prince Philip’s old residence on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, Wood Farm. The modest cottage is where the late Duke of Edinburgh spent his final years before his death aged 99 in April 2021. Sources suggest it will be at least two months before Andrew can move into his new home, the four-bedroom Marsh Farm on the Norfolk estate.

Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, who has been heavily implicated in the latest release of Epstein files, is hunting for a new home after being kicked out of Royal Lodge, where she lived with ex-husband Andrew for 20 years.

A removals van was today seen entering Royal Lodge while 130 miles away in Sandringham, there was a hive of activity near Wood Farm, with builders’ vans seen arriving and a delivery of temporary toilets. Andrew was last seen publicly on Monday, when he was snapped riding a horse and waving at passers-by while driving in his car in Windsor Great Park.

It comes after Andrew and Fergie featured numerous times in the latest Epstein files, which were released by the US Department of Justice on Friday. Among them were images apparently showing the ex-prince crouched on all fours over an unidentified woman in what appears to be Epstein’s New York mansion.

As part of catalogue of further damning allegations, an exotic dancer demanded $250,000 from Epstein, claiming she performed “various sex acts” on the disgraced financier and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, according to legal documents in the files.

The unnamed woman claims to have been chauffeured to a party at Epstein’s Palm Beach home in 2006, where she says she danced for the men before they asked her for a “threesome”. In a letter dated March 23, 2011, the woman’s lawyer alleged that the billionaire had breached his oral contract by failing to pay her the $10,000 promised for performing at a party at his Florida home.

Claims made by the former Duke about cutting off contact with his paedo pal in his infamous TV interview have also been torn to shreds. From arranging a “good time” for his goddaughter visiting Buckingham Palace to fixing a dinner date with a “beautiful” 26-year-old Russian, Andrew and Epstein were in touch frequently, the new files reveal. In the same month, Andrew also apparently tells Epstein: “Wish I was still a pet in your family.”

In a further blow to his tattered reputation, the files reveal an email from Epstein’s former lover Ghislaine Maxwell confirming that the infamous photo of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor with his arm around his chief accuser was in fact genuine. The disgraced royal had long disputed the authenticity of the image of him in intimate contact with Virginia Giuffre when she was just 17.

His suggestion that the damning 2001 image may have been faked was central to the defence he tried to put over in his disastrous Newsnight interview. Andrew claimed he was at a Pizza Express in Woking with his daughter Beatrice and could not have been at Tramp nightclub in London as Giuffre alleged.

In a bombshell email Maxwell said she was “stating for the record as fact” that she introduced the former Prince to Giuffre but that the image was taken at her London home that same night. However, she claimed she had “no knowledge” of Ms Giuffre ‘having sexual activity’ with Andrew or any other “famous people”.

Sarah Ferguson was also in frequent contact with the billionaire, inviting him to Buckingham Palace, and apparently saying: “I am at your service. Just marry me.” Meanwhile, police have said they were assessing allegations that a woman was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew.

Lawyers representing the woman have urged the King to contact them following allegations that their client was sent to the UK for a sexual encounter with his brother.

Brad Edwards, from the US firm Edwards Henderson, previously told the BBC his client had spent the night with Andrew after being given a tour of Buckingham Palace. Andrew vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

In 2022, the former duke paid millions of pounds to his main accuser, Virginia Giuffre – a woman he claims never to have met. He was stripped of his titles by the King last year after the posthumous publication of a book from Ms Giuffre, who alleged she was trafficked by Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 17.

He was also forced to give up the lease of Royal Lodge amid a huge outcry after it emerged he had only been paying a peppercorn rent for the mansion, which has prompted an investigation into the Crown Estate into why he had been handed such a lucrative deal.
