First Lady Melania Trump’s stepdaughter Ivanka Trump was not in attendance at the Trump Kennedy Center for the premiere of her documentary — and there may be a reason why.
“Ivanka has not seen the movie and has zero intention of seeing it,” a source told journalist Rob Shuter in a Wednesday, February 4, post on his Naughty But Nice Substack. “That decision was very deliberate.”
According to one of Shuter’s sources, “There’s no bond there at all. They don’t confide, they don’t check in, and they certainly don’t cheer each other on.”
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail last week show President Donald Trump’s 44-year-old daughter (whom he shares with the late Ivana Trump) and her husband, Jared Kushner, 45, at an event in Miami Beach on the same day as the film’s Thursday, January 29, premiere.

A source told Shuter that Ivanka and Melania, 55, “barely speak,” adding: “When they do, it’s functional, short, and usually unavoidable.”
A review of Melania in the Los Angeles Times said that there are “no words” exchanged with her stepchildren, including Ivanka, in the film.
Despite apparent snubs on both sides, “This isn’t a feud with fireworks,” a Naughty But Nice source said. “It’s colder than that. It’s indifference.”
As previously reported, Melania — produced by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Brett Ratner — took in $7 million in the United States and Canada during its opening weekend.
According to the New York Times, the film, which hit theaters across the United States on January 30, had the best opening weekend for a documentary, excluding concert films, in 14 years. In 2012, the nature doc Chimpanzee took in $10.7 million at the time, per NYT.

The first lady and her husband, 79, attended the January 29 premiere at the Trump Kennedy Center ahead of news that the president plans to shut down the historic venue for two years.
“History is set in motion during the 20 days of my life prior to the U.S. Presidential Inauguration,” Melania previously told Fox News Digital of the film prior to its release.
“For the first time, global audiences are invited into theaters to witness this pivotal chapter unfold — a private, unfiltered look as I navigate family, business, and philanthropy on my remarkable journey to becoming first lady of the United States of America,” she added.
