Influencers snapping selfies outside Gary Neville’s home on a picturesque Georgian street in Manchester city centre has reportedly left the pundit ‘fed up’.
Former Love Island stars are among the online influencers who have been seen taking pictures outside properties along St John Street near Spinningfields in Manchester due to its aesthetic. It remains the only surviving Georgian terraced street in central Manchester, with houses priced well over £1million.
Built in the 1700s, many of the properties have for years been used as medical consulting rooms and professional offices for barristers, doctors, and dentists. A number of them are also residential homes.

Ex-Manchester United defender Neville, who also co-owns the Stock Exchange Hotel in the city centre, reportedly owns properties along St John Street, with a four-bed terrace previously listed for rent at £20,000 a month. His development company owns four of the homes on the street, previously dubbed as Manchester’s ‘Millionaires’ Row’.
Visitors to the street have previously included influencers and Love Island stars including Molly Mae, Tom Clare and Jess White. It provides a picturesque and dated backdrop for selfies and portrait images in the heart of Manchester.

Other pictures shared to social media show users standing or sitting on door steps, even snapping the pictures as part of brand partnership advertisements.
However The Sun reported that the football pundit was ‘fed up’ with having to ‘move people away off his step’ when leaving the city centre property.
A source told the newspaper: “Every day influencers are seen shooting pictures on the doorsteps. Little do they know Gary Neville lives on that street, and it’s often his door and windows they’re climbing on.”

St John Street has seen only minor changes and has been largely preserved since being built. According to the council, in 1963, a facelift was carried out which involved replacement of incompatible items such as windows and nameplates and painting of timberwork.
It forms part of the St John Street conservation area which was designated on 4th November 1970. The boundary of the conservation area follows Artillery Street, Longworth Street, Camp Street, Culvercliffe Walk, Lower Byrom Street, Quay Street and Byrom Street.
