The Olympics are taking place in fashion-hub Milan this year. (And Cortino, but we’re not talking about it right now, okay?) And to honor Milan’s rep as one of the major Fashion Week cities, the 2026 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony went couture with its flag ceremony. It started with a runway full of models in Giorgio Armani–designed suits in the tricolore. The all-girlboss color guard defended the flag from its enemies, with one designated leader to present the Italian flag. That leader was none other than Italian supermodel and Armani spokesmodel Vittoria Ceretti. Non-fashion-heads may know her best as the first Leonardo DiCaprio girlfriend to break his 25-and-under streak.
DiCaprio and Ceretti have been linked romantically since 2023. Ceretti told Vogue France that the couple met in Milan, “but I prefer not to go into details.” The two have been very private about their relationship, rarely showing up to events together. Ceretti didn’t join DiCaprio at the Golden Globes, so we know it wasn’t her that he was having that kiki with about KPop Demon Hunters. And DiCaprio doesn’t appear to be in Milan for the Opening Ceremony. According to TMZ, he was at the Sunset Tower on Thursday night. They did go to the 2025 Met Gala together, though.
Ceretti is her own woman, obviously, and she doesn’t need an escort to raise the Italian flag. (Except for the all-women honor guard, but that was more for the flag than Ceretti.) “As soon as you’re in a relationship with someone who has a larger following than you, you become ‘girlfriend of,’” she told Vogue France. “And that can be extremely annoying. Suddenly, people are talking about you as so-and-so’s girlfriend who was so-and-so’s ex. So it’s not nice to think that you can’t love whoever you want, because of the labels people need to stick on you.” Apologies to Ms. Ceretti for this headline. You are more than a plus-one.
