The BBC has postponed two episodes of Silent Witness season 29 from the TV schedule after a real-life incident in Birmingham.
The third episode of the new season, comprising of the first part of a two-part story titled The Enemy Within, was due to air on Monday (9th February) on BBC One, but was pulled from the schedule and replaced with the fifth episode in the season. The fourth episode, and second part, which was due to air on Tuesday (10th February), has also been replaced by the sixth episode in the season.
The Enemy Within centres on the forensics team as they examine a deadly stabbing in Birmingham.
The BBC has rescheduled the episodes in response to a real-life incident that occurred in Birmingham over the weekend, whereby two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were attacked with a machete.
A BBC spokesperson told TV Guide: “Due to the attack in Birmingham over the weekend, this week’s episodes of Silent Witness will not transmit as planned and instead they have been replaced with two episodes from later on in the series.”

Silent Witness returned for its 29th season last week, relocating from London to Birmingham.
The new season launched Emilia Fox back onto our screens as Dr Nikki Alexander alongside David Caves as her husband and colleague Jack Hodgson. Also returning are Maggie Steed as Harriet and Fran Mills as Kit.
Postponed episodes three and four have been rescheduled for Tuesday (17th February) and Wednesday (18th February) of next week.
