Gone, but never forgotten. James Van Der Beek’s friends surrounded him with love in his final days. Following the “Dawson’s Creek” star’s death from colorectal cancer on Feb. 11 at just 48 years old, those who knew him best are sharing how they bid farewell at his Texas home. Alfonso Ribero posted a heartbreaking photo with James, revealing in his Instagram caption that he is godfather to James and wife Kimberly’s 7-year-old daughter, Gwendolyn. Mehcad Brooks, Stacy Keibler and designer Erin Fetherston also reflected on being by James’ side at the end of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.

I really thought he'd pull through. I'm not sure why but for some reason Dawson was always supposed to be down the creek.
I never watched Dawson’s Creek but he was definitely loved by those who knew him and you can feel the weight of their loss. 😢
