Prince Harry is reportedly continuing his mission to reconcile with his family, and while some royals seem to be on board, there’s still one who is holding out – his brother, Prince William.

Prince Harry Is Reportedly Ready To ‘Bury The Hatchet’ With Prince William At The Invictus Games
It’s no secret that there’s been a lot of tension and likely, behind-the-scenes drama within the royal family over the last five years, ever since the Spare author and his wife, the As Ever founder, officially stepped down from being working royals and left the UK for California.
For the last few months, there have been both whispers and public statements about the estranged prince wanting reconcile with his father, brother, and other members of his family. From him stating he’d like to find a way to repair his relationship in interviews, to inside sources stating both him and his father are looking to patch things up.
These reports are heating up even more after the announcement that the Invictus Games, which Harry co-founded, are going to be held in Birmingham next summer. Sources are saying the prince would like to use this as a time to reconnect and “bury the hatchet” with his loved ones, especially his older brother.
“It feels like Harry is testing the waters for peace,” a palace aide told Radar Online. “The Invictus Games in Birmingham is set to be key as his olive branch moment. [It is] something symbolic but safe, under the banner of a cause everyone can support.”

Prince William Is Allegedly Hesitant To Reconcile With His Brother At The Invictus Games
With the athletic competition on the horizon, many royal family fans and experts have been stating how important a moment it could be for them.
“The memory of that first Games in 2014 still lingers,” the source told the above publication. “With Charles, Camilla, and William all there, proud and unified. If they chose to appear together again, it wouldn’t just be a family photo opportunity. It would signal to the world that the royals are finally ready to move past the fractures of the last few years.”
There is one person who is allegedly holding back, however, and it’s Prince William, who will likely be the head of the family in a handful of years. Some insiders have stated that the two brothers have not spoken to each other since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, and the eldest brother seems to be more focused on the importance of upholding the monarchy.
“So far, there’s no real indication that William wants to reopen that door,” another source added. “He’s deeply protective of his family, and feels that too much damage was done in public for things to simply be smoothed over.”
