Emily Mortimer‘s upcoming directorial debut “Dennis” has expanded its cast with a trio of fellow Brits.

Jim Broadbent (“Jay Kelly,” “Bridget Jones”), Kelly Macdonald (“Dept. Q,” “No Country for Old Men”) and Jamie Demetriou (“Stath Lets Flats,” “The Moment”) have joined the romance, alongside its already announced leads Alison Oliver, currently seen in “Wuthering Heights,” and Oscar-nominated “Anora” breakout Yura Borisov.

The film — from A24 and Fruit Tree — follows a British student (Oliver) and a Russian poet (Borisov) who fall in love in 1990s Moscow. It is being written and directed by BAFTA-nominated Mortimer, whose work behind the camera includes writing and directing BBC/Amazon limited series “The Pursuit of Love” and creating and showrunning the HBO series “Doll and Em.” She also co-wrote Noah Baumbach’s “Jay Kelly.”

Emma Stone, Dave McCary and Ali Herting will produce through their Fruit Tree production company alongside Mortimer, Alessandro Nivola and Lizzie Nastro Adler for King Bee Productions. Joshua Horsfield for Intake, Viktória Petrányi for Proton Cinema, and Jacob Epstein for Lighthouse will serve as executive producers.

“Dennis” marks the ongoing collaboration between Fruit Tree and A24. Other projects include Jesse Eisenberg’s upcoming untitled comedy starring Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu and Bernadette Peters, plus already released titles including “Problemista, “I Saw the TV Glow” and “The Curse.”

A24 will finance and handle worldwide release.
