Linda Cardellini is in talks to star opposite Bill Hader in They Know, the new feature that Hader is writing, directing and producing, Nexus Point News has learned.
They Know follows a newly separated man who becomes convinced that his wife and children are possibly being influenced by their new neighbor. Cardellini would play the wife if a deal closes, with Hader portraying the husband, Kyle. The casting for the additional characters is currently underway. MRC, the entertainment studio behind Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights and Netflix series Ozark, is producing the movie alongside Hader. Nexus Point News has reached out to the reps for Bill Hader for comment.
Bill Hader is best known for starring in the HBO series Barry, where he played the titular hitman-turned-aspiring actor, earning multiple Emmy wins. He most recently lent his voice to IF, directed by John Krasinski, and is set to voice the title character in Warner Bros.’ upcoming animated adaptation of The Cat in the Hat. Hader is represented by UTA and Felker Toczek.
Linda Cardellini is widely recognized for her roles in the live-action Scooby-Doo films and the Netflix dark comedy Dead to Me. She also portrayed Laura Barton in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her upcoming projects includes DTF St. Louis, Crystal Lake and Way of the Warrior Kid. Cardellini is represented by CAA, Shelter PR and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Production on They Know is slated to begin in April.
