Will Smith gifted Jada Pinkett Smith dozens of life-size pillows of their entire blended family — including kids Trey, Jaden and Willow — for Valentine’s Day

“Life size pillows for a family snuggle … Happy Love Day everybody,” Jada wrote on Instagram

While Will and Jada have been married since 1997, the Set It Off actress revealed in 2023 that they have been separated since 2016

Will Smith went all out this Valentine’s Day.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed the extravagant gift the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air alum, 57, surprised her with to celebrate the holiday.

“Life size pillows for a family snuggle,” Jada, 54, wrote on her Instagram Stories alongside a video showcasing dozens of pillows lining the walls of a huge room. “Happy Love Day everybody❤️.”

In addition to discovering her and Will’s faces printed on pillows of various sizes, Jada found that their kids — Trey, 33, Jaden, 27, and Willow, 25 — each had a few pillows of their own sitting beside a collection of flower bouquets and a balloon that read, “love.”

Will’s big Valentine’s Day gesture came just over two weeks after he and Jada, who wed in 1997, took a trip to Paris to support Jaden’s debut with Christian Louboutin as the brand’s first men’s creative director at Paris Fashion Week.

“Will and Jada were great,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “They drove around Paris and were very happy. They were all about this amazing, united family front to support Jaden and enjoy Fashion Week.”

While the pair makes their love for their family clear and often calls themselves a “committed team,” Jada revealed in October 2023 that she and Will have been separated since 2016.

“I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she told Hoda Kotb on the Today show at the time. She also noted that, while their separation wasn’t a “divorce on paper,” they had grown “exhausted with trying” by the time 2016 rolled around.

“In regards to, how do we present that to people? We hadn’t figured that out,” Jada added.

Will and Jada’s split came long before the Men in Black actor smacked Chris Rock in the face onstage at the 2022 Academy Awards after the comedian, 61, made a joke about Jada’s shaved head. (Jada lives with alopecia.)

“We had been living separate lives and were there as family, not as husband and wife,” Jada wrote of the moment in her 2023 memoir, Worthy. “But when I hear Will yell ‘wife’ in the chaos of the moment, an internal shift of ‘Oh s— … I am his wife!’ happens instantly.”

In an interview with PEOPLE that same month, Jada reiterated that she and Will were still in the process of “figuring out” the state of their marriage.

“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,” she explained. “We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”

As for how her kids helped her along the way, Jada said they played a huge role in teaching her to feel a “deep sense of self-acceptance.”

“They love every part of me,” she told PEOPLE. “The level of love, unconditional love that they have for me and their dad. And it’s one thing to want to be the person who gives that unconditional love. And then there’s, to be the recipient of that.”
