The FCC investigated Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance and found nothing that violated its rules pertaining to profanity and obscenity, according to the New York Post.
In the immediate aftermath of last weekend’s performance, several congressional Republicans publicly called for an FCC probe, accusing the Puerto Rican star of potentially violating broadcast decency standards. But as we noted at the time, those claims were flimsy at best, given that Bad Bunny either censored or omitted his most explicit lyrics. And, per the Post, once the FCC obtained a translated transcript of the performance, it confirmed as much.
As of now, the FCC’s review of Bad Bunny is said to be “shelved… barring further evidence.”
