This is Dr Tatiana Sampaio, a Brazilian scientist who has restored movement to six paraplegic patients to date, one of the greatest achievements in medicine. Dr Sampaio is regenerating spinal cords in experimental trials, enabling quadriplegics to regain voluntary control.
