As Sarah prepares to ‘plead her case’ William is demanding that all royals draw a ‘hard line’ in keeping her away from the Royal Family for good

If one thing has been made abundantly clear over the past few weeks, it’s that Sarah Ferguson will not be following her ex-husband to his new home, Marsh Farm in Norfolk.
Yes, she may have spent decades living with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor at the 30-bedroomed Royal Lodge in Windsor but, with just five bedrooms and no space for live in staff, the disgraced former Duke’s new country abode appears to have been a lot less appealing to Sarah’s tastes.
Instead, it was revealed earlier this week that after finding herself dragged into the quagmire that is the ongoing Epstein investigation, Sarah, 66, has been prompted to flee, to the French Alps no less, where she is said to have spent a brief sojourn with pals before flying out to the UAE.
Earlier this year it was reported that both Andrew and Sarah could look to move abroad to escape the furore of their royal scandal, but sources have since revealed that Sarah’s escape to the emirates could be brief, as the Royal Family’s ‘bounceback queen’ – as she was once dubbed – plots her return to the UK.
A source said earlier this week that the former Duchess is currently lying low while she ‘gets her head together’ but has allegedly told friends, ‘I need to get back to work. I need to earn money.’
Sarah, whose charity was also forced to close its doors earlier this month, is also believed to be scouting a new PR team to help navigate her return to Windsor, where she wishes to live close to her daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
However, while the cogs may be in motion for a comeback like no other, a source tells Heat that the royals, led by Prince William, are vowing to make her alleged return as unwelcoming and uncomfortable as possible as they close ranks to ensure she never darkens their door again.
An insider says, ‘Sarah has always claimed that she cut ties with Epstein, that she was only close to him before she realised the sort of creep he was but now that these emails have been released the truth is out and it’s beyond damning. Any chances she had of redeeming herself are long gone.

However the source says William is now determined to draw a ‘hard line’ when it comes to Sarah’s relations with the Royal family – and that includes his stepmother cutting ties with her forever.
‘She’s delusional if she thinks there’s any chance of being welcomed back into the royal fold. William has made it clear to everyone, including Camilla, that Sarah is persona non grata; he doesn’t want to ever see her face again,’ the insider says.
‘In his mind this is not some misunderstanding that can be smoothed over with time. She has poisoned the reputation of the monarchy and he’s determined to draw a very hard line.’
Meanwhile, Sarah is reportedly adamant that she wasn’t aware of the full extent of Andrew’s relationship with Epstein and blames her ex-husband for her own name being brought into disrepute.
And now the source adds, ‘Sarah is up in arms and telling anyone that will listen how she’s being unfairly judged. She admits she was naïve to simply believe what Andrew told her, but she doesn’t feel her mistakes warrant being banished.
‘She swears up and down she was never at any of the depraved sex parties or even the least bit clued in to what was going on with Andrew and Epstein. She feels it’s beyond unfair to lump her in with Andrew. She has grandkids she wants to be near, forcing her out of the country feels barbaric.’
Not one to be deterred however, we’re told Sarah is determined to ‘plead her case’ and hopes to arrange a face-to-face with William when she returns to the UK.
‘She is very keen to get on a call with William or even better, meet him face to face, to plead her case. She has always felt they had a special relationship; she was there for him after his mother died,’ the insider says.
‘But a guilt trip is not going to work with William, he’s way beyond that. He’s resolute about cutting ties with her and has already set it in motion. Sarah doesn’t want to believe it; she’s still in shock over how quickly everyone has turned on her.
‘She’s convinced she can sway William but the odds of him softening towards her are pretty much none. All he cares about is protecting the monarchy and she’s a clear liability. The only thing to do is steer clear of her, indefinitely.’
