The cause of death for Victoria Jones, the 34-year-old daughter of Tommy Lee Jones, has been released.
The former Men In Black II child star, who briefly followed in her famous father’s footsteps when she was younger, was found dead in a luxury hotel in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Now, her cause of death has been revealed.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in San Francisco, California announced that Victoria had died due to ‘toxic effects of cocaine,’ and ruled the manner of her death as an ‘accident,’ People reports.
Tommy Lee spoke about the death of his daughter on January 2, saying in a statement: ‘We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.’
The San Francisco Fire Department responded to a call for medical aid at the Fairmont San Francisco at 2:52am on Thursday.

They carried out an assessment and pronounced one person dead at the scene, but the cause of death was unknown at the time.
‘A white female around her mid-30s was found unresponsive and the hotel staff was alerted,’ a source told the Mail. ‘CPR was done, but she was pronounced deceased by the emergency/ambulance crew that responded to the scene.’
TMZ revealed the San Francisco Police Department took over the scene.

A spokesperson for the SFPD told the Mail: ‘On 1/1/26 at approximately 3:14 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to a hotel located on the 900 block of Mason street regarding a report of a deceased person.
‘At the scene, officers met with medics, who declared the adult female deceased. The Medical Examiner arrived on scene and conducted an investigation.’
Jones had Victoria and her 43-year-old brother Austin with his second wife Kimberlea Cloughley, whom he was married to between 1981 and 1996.
Two years before she died, the Oscar-winning actor moved to legally safeguard his daughter by requesting a temporary conservatorship in California.

Court records from Marin County Superior Court, first reported by the Daily Mail, show that Jones submitted the petition on August 7, 2023, asking the Probate Court to appoint a conservator for Victoria.
The court confirmed that the filing was made. Any medical documentation and supporting statements were filed under seal.
Around the same time, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Victoria had been placed in a hospital in Greenbrae on a 14-day psychiatric hold after authorities determined she might pose a risk to herself or others.
According to the outlet, Jones’ court filing noted that his daughter was contesting the hold and sought to have a conservator in place to coordinate her transfer to a drug rehabilitation facility as soon as she was discharged.

A judge approved the temporary conservatorship, but Jones later petitioned to have the case dismissed. Court records indicate the conservatorship was formally ended on December 18, 2023.
As a child, Victoria had a small role in 2002’s Men in Black II and had a few other minor roles before stepping away from the acting world.
She played an immigrant in The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (a film made by her father) and a mugging victim in Sorry, Haters.
Her final on-screen role was as a cheerleader in an episode of teen drama One Tree Hill in 2005.
