Though the second season of The Celebrity Traitors may not air until later in the year, it doesn’t mean we can’t speculate as to who will be part of the cast. With rumoured stars including Ruth Jones and Bob Mortimer, it could be a fun time!

One of the other names linked to the hit spin-off to the BBC reality series is Danny Dyer, but the Rivals and former EastEnders star has – rather emphatically – denied that he has been offered a trip to the Scottish Highlands.

In an upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs on Saturday on ITV1, the actor joined his daughter Dani, and was quizzed about his potential involvement in the series by Ross, a former Traitor himself.

“That’s absolute bollocks,” said Dyer. “I don’t know why they’re saying it. If they ask me I’ll do it, but no one’s asked me. I would f**king declare it. I’m not on it, you’ll see when it comes on.”

Dyer isn’t the only famous face to comment on a potential appearance in the series, with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher recently claiming that he had been “asked” to take part in TV’s most treacherous and deceitful game.

While we’ll have to wait to see who is part of the line-up for the upcoming season of the spin-off, comedian Alan Carr recently shared that he wanted to make a special Traitors-themed purchase following his triumph in the first season.

“I’m buying a castle,” he said during last week’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show. “I’m having a midlife crisis. I want a turret to call my own. I’m in my turret era. I fancy a move and I loved being in The Traitors castle, so I thought, ‘I’m going to get myself one.’

“You know when people have a midlife crisis that they get a ponytail or a Lamborghini… I want a castle. You know when you fancy something? I’m 50 this year – I know I don’t look it – and I just want one.”

“I know it sounds very grand. I’m moving from where I am at the minute, I want animals there and a community thing. I’m lonely where I am. It’ll be nice, having people come there and having cream tea,” he added.

The Traitors seasons 1-4 and The Celebrity Traitors are streaming on BBC iPlayer.
