Former TOWIE personality Chloe Lewis has disclosed that her six year old son Beau suffered a devastating injury when his finger was ‘sliced off’ during a horrific ice skating mishap.
The 35-year-old, who co-parents Beau with former partner Danny Flasher, broke the heartbreaking news to her Instagram followers on Thursday evening. She detailed how the incident occurred on New Year’s Eve before he was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, where medical staff unsuccessfully attempted to reattach the severed finger.
Chloe described feeling ‘broken’ by the traumatic ordeal and announced she’s now campaigning for the government to make protective gloves mandatory for youngsters whilst ice skating.

Beau was at ice skating when the tragic accident happened
In an extensive post, she wrote: “I didn’t know whether to share this with the world or not, as he’s my baby & as a parent you’re always protective over your child. I’m sharing to help others and raise awareness. After receiving the dreaded phone call NYE 2pm that no parent ever wants to receive, I was told Beau had been in a terrible accident. He fell over ice skating & someone ran over his finger with their bladed skates, which took his finger off.”

“I’m not even sure how I got into the car and drove the 45 minutes to him, if I’m honest — it was all a complete blur. When I arrived, he was wrapped up in a silver medical blanket. His little face melted my heart, and I did my best to hold back the tears so I didn’t upset him. He kept telling me, ‘It’s fine mum, you don’t need to cry, I’m OK. My finger’s going to be OK.'” “We were blue-lighted to The Royal London, where they checked him over and did X-rays. He finally went down for surgery at around 8pm. Watching your child be put to sleep is probably the worst thing I’ve ever experienced — it’s incredibly distressing, and I honestly wouldn’t wish it on anyone. After 3.5 hours in surgery, I was called down so I could be there when he woke up. The plastic surgeon told me everything went well. We then went back up to the ward, where I watched him sleep. This video was taken from the window on New Year ’s Eve. It’s made me reflect on how precious life is, and how everything can change in a matter of seconds.” “It’s now been 8 weeks since it happened. The part of the finger they reattached sadly didn’t take… which means if it doesn’t fall away naturally then he’ll have to have another small operation to remove it. Its completely broke me & still to this day I can’t believe it’s happened.” “As I’ll never be able to bring his finger back, I’d love all your support in helping me change the Law to stop this happening to other children. I’ve started a Petition with the government ‘to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves while ice skating’. With 100,000 signatures this petition will be considered for a debate in parliament. I’d be grateful for all your help. I hope one day I can tell Beau I changed the law because of him.”
They subsequently returned to the ward, where she kept vigil as he slept. The footage was captured from the window on New Year’s Eve, prompting her to contemplate how fragile life truly is, and how circumstances can transform in an instant.
Eight weeks have now passed since the incident occurred. Tragically, the reattached portion of his finger failed to heal properly, meaning it will either detach naturally or require another minor surgical procedure for removal.
The ordeal has left her devastated, and she still struggles to comprehend what’s happened. Acknowledging she cannot restore his finger, she’s appealing for widespread backing to help reform legislation and prevent similar incidents affecting other youngsters. She’s launched a Government petition calling ‘to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves whilst ice skating’.
Should the petition reach 100,000 signatures, it will be eligible for parliamentary debate. She’s appealing for everyone’s assistance, expressing hope that one day she can tell Beau she changed the law in his honour.

When followers enquired whether she was a ‘single mama’, she confirmed: “Yes I am. It’s been a complicated couple of years.”
She added: “I’m quite private about my personal life, find it hard to deal with it all anyway let alone having everyone’s opinion. But try my best to show what I can.”
