After Gizelle documented her trip to Atlanta for her day in court during Season 10, host Andy Cohen asked for a status update on Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Season 10 reunion. At that point, she’d been in litigation for years, after her father, civil rights leader Curtis Graves, died in July 2023 following a fight with brain cancer.
“The issue was: Was I gonna be the benefactor, or was his wife gonna be the benefactor?” Gizelle explained to Andy. “And after two years of going back and forth, the judge finally rendered a verdict.”

After taking a brief pause to choke back tears, she revealed, “The judge sided with her, which was very painful.”
Gizelle Bryant claimed her late father’s money was “not the issue” in her court case
Gizelle, meanwhile, took the opportunity to dispel speculation that she saw circulating on social media that claimed she was “just trying to take this money away from” her father’s widow.
“The money is not the issue,” she insisted. “The issue is my father was a very prominent civil rights leader. So, there are things that he had possession of that are a part of his legacy and his relationships with other civil rights leaders.” That’s when a black-and-white photo from 1963 appeared on screen showing Mr. Graves with the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
“So, all of that is very important to him for his grandchildren to have and to pass on to their children,” she said, referring, at least in part, to her three daughters, Grace, Angel, and Adore (with ex, Jamal Bryant).

However, Gizelle went on to share “the silver lining” of the situation: “The City of Houston is building a park in honor of my father, and that’s almost done. So, his legacy continues, regardless of the evilness of his wife.”
Inside Gizelle Bryant’s legal battle over her father’s will
Earlier on Season 10, Gizelle gave viewers more insight on the details on the legal battle playing out in Atlanta.
“I have been petitioning my father’s will for a couple years now,” she stated in a confessional from Episode 7. “I believe that his real will was destroyed by his wife. Everything that he had in his estate was going to be given to either myself or his grandchildren. I know my father would want me to do what’s right.”
While en route to the airport for her court date, Gizelle spoke to 21-year-old daughter Grace on the phone and declared that she was beyond ready to just “get this over with.”
“We’re going on, like, two years now,” Gizelle elaborated. “Pops is looking down like, ‘I know you’re trying to do the right thing.’ Whether it ends in my favor or not, I know I did what I was supposed to do. … It just needs to be over.”
Once she arrived in Atlanta, Gizelle rendezvoused with another daughter, Angel, 19, who is a student at Spelman College in Georgia, and detailed what happened in her court hearing while cameras were not rolling.
“The good news is we’re kind of winning,” Gizelle said. “Because the judge could’ve, today, thrown it out and said, you know, ‘It’s over.'”
She added in a confessional, “The judge heard both sides, and it’s a lot of information. What the judge said was, ‘I need to look at all this, and the court will, then, reach out to both attorneys and give the ruling.’ I can’t do nothin’ but wait.”
As Gizelle’s end card from the Season 10 finale revealed, however, she eventually “lost the fight over her father’s will.”
