The Mummy Returns (2001), directed by Stephen Sommers, is the action-packed sequel to The Mummy (1999). Set in 1933, eight years after Rick O’Connell and Evelyn defeated Imhotep, the film follows the couple and their young son Alex as they face a new threat: the resurrection of the Scorpion King, an ancient warrior who sold his soul to Anubis for power. When Imhotep is brought back to life once again, he seeks to control the Scorpion King’s army to dominate the world.
