Dax Shepard gave wife Kristen Bell a “less-than-exciting Valentine’s Day” this year.
The actor confessed to “Armchair Expert” listeners during Monday’s “Fact Check” segment that he “definitely neglected” his partner and spoiled their daughters instead.
The “Parenthood” alum, 51, “went all out” for Lincoln, 12, and Delta, 11.

“My girls are my Valentines. … All my resources went to the little ones,” Shepard gushed, noting that his mom, Laura Labo, was in town and got the short end of the stick as well.
“She’s been my Valentine for 51 years, so it really becomes a bandwidth [issue],” he explained.
The actor noted that Bell, 45, and Labo “saw that [he] was spending a lot of energy on [his] other two Valentines” — including devoting “several hours” to a grand gesture.

“I know that my daughter loves floaties for the pool, so I got heart-shaped floaties and inflated them and put them in the pool,” he recalled.
Additionally, Shepard “made each of them handmade cards where [he] really drew pictures and then wrote how [he feels] about them.”
He and Bell welcomed Lincoln and Delta in 2013 and 2014, respectively, despite initially only wanting one child.

“We just thought it would be really helpful to make her a better person to have to deal with someone else … [and] live in the same room with another person and have to share everything,” Shepard said on the “Endless Honeymoon” podcast in October 2022.
He and the “Nobody Wants This” star have been together since 2007, tying the knot in 2013.
Last month, Bell’s “Burlesque” co-star Cher dissed Shepard by agreeing the actress could do “better.”

“You must have something that I don’t see,” the singer, 79, mused during a January episode of Shepard and Monica Padman’s podcast.
Bell defended her husband, claiming he is almost “too good” for her and a “slow burn.”
Shepard was not offended by Cher’s shade and subsequently told “Access Hollywood” he found the Grammy winner’s comment “hysterical.”
