D4vd Named in Celeste Rivas Hernandez Grand Jury Murder Case | E! News
D4vd has been named in a grand jury murder investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The “Romantic Homicide” singer (real name David Anthony Burke) was referred to as a “target” of the grand jury case in a court petition for the attendance of an out-of-state witness obtained by E! News. In the filing, a prosecutor said D4vd, a 20-year-old from Texas, “may be involved in having committed the following criminal offenses against the laws of the State of California, to wit: One count of murder.” Elsewhere, the petition stated that D4vd “may be involved in the death of 14-year-old victim Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who may have been a victim of foul play,” per NBC News. E! News has reached out to D4vd’s rep and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for comment about the petition but hasn’t heard back. In September, decomposing remains belonging to Rivas Hernandez, who was reported missing in 2024, were found in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd. A self-identified teacher of Celeste is on video claiming D4vd got blackmailed by Celeste's "friends" after she bragged about their relationship beginning when she was 13/14, and one alleged blackmailer claimed she identified as 19 when D4vd was 20. Shelly, identifying herself as Celeste’s cousin, commented that Celeste initially lied to D4vd about her age too.
Twitch and Discord mods said Celeste's online actions convinced them that she was 18 or 19, and law enforcement reportedly found fake IDs on Celeste.
Maybe Celeste was unalived to prevent the spread of the controversial relationship in the hope of preserving D4vd's rapidly growing career.
