This might be a hot take but I don't want Sonamy to be canon in the movie. Since the movie has Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, adding Amy to the main cast and having her live with them would mean that Sonic and Amy would be siblings. And if that's the direction the movie is going to go to then Sonamy would get very weird. Plus, it'd be refreshing to have Sonic and Amy have a platonic relationship like Mario and Peach had in the Mario Movie.
