Jennifer Garner On Sisterhood: “I Needed Her – And Reese Was There.”
Jennifer Garner joins Josh for a funny, heartfelt and unexpectedly emotional chat – yes, she cries twice. From the legacy of 13 Going on 30 to leading The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 on Apple TV, she reflects on longevity in Hollywood and why women over 50 are finally being centred as the heroes of their own stories.
She reveals how Reese Witherspoon “rejected outright” Hollywood’s outdated belief that female-led stories don’t sell – and addresses the rumour about her “rough patch,” confirming Reese showed up when she needed her most.
Jennifer also shares the bold letter she wrote to fight for her latest role, and speaks honestly about the constant tension between motherhood and ambition.
The Last Thing He Told Me” Season 2 is out now on Apple TV

This is a brilliant show – love hearing Jennifer talk so openly about female friendsdhip. Josh you are fab!
Wow, what a guest! Honestly this was such a beautiful conversation. Jennifer just feels so grounded and self-aware. The way she spoke about Reese showing up for her really got me 🥲, that kind of loyalty and friendship is rare. And hearing her talk about 13 Going on 30 and how far she’s come. It just feels really honest. One of my favourite episodes!
Jennifer continues to shine her light in a world full of darkness!
Such a joy to listen to this honest, heartfelt conversation. I loved hearing Jennifer’s stories about the people who’ve truly shown up for her — her genuine gratitude was incredibly moving.
It was wonderful to hear about her passions beyond acting — from championing early childhood education to building a thriving organic children’s food company. This will be a hard episode to top!
