Alexandra Anna Daddario was born on March 16, 1986, in New York City. She was raised on the Upper East Side in a family with a diverse heritage, including Italian, Irish, English, and Slovak roots. Her father, Richard Daddario, is a former prosecutor and served as the NYPD’s counter-terrorism chief, while her mother, Christina, is a lawyer. Her siblings, Matthew and Catharine, are also actors, and her grandfather, Emilio Q. Daddario, was a U.S. congressman.

She decided to pursue a career in acting at the age of 11 and secured her first television role at 16, playing Laurie Lewis on the daytime soap opera _All My Children_.
