I know he is famous for Hamilton, but have either of you seen The Snowpiercer TV series? Daveed Diggs as a lead was just awful, he had two modes, monotone and shouting, even when trying to give inspirational speeches they just fell flat.
I never try to assume, but referencing Clan of the Cave Bear lets me know y'all are fellow GenX Travelers. 😊🎉
It sounds like a review of Robert Zemeckis' "Here", one of "The Life of Chuck" and another of "In The Blink Of an Eye" could be interchangeable. It is so funny, I posted this before you guys mentioned those other titles. I would add "Cloud Atlas" 🤣
Heh. Even in this movie Christy has the geography facts. 🤓
The thumbnails always give you the vibe of your mom and dad being disappointed in you
Every piece of music in a movie is trying to make you feel a certain way. Thomas Newman's score for Shawshank Redemption is "telling you what to feel".
Alonso and Christy’s disappointed stare into the void.
The drive to Whistler is gorgeous.
like "cloud atlas" and a robin williams movie called "being human" I think… but yeah, these kinds of movies go for a profundity that they don't earn and ends up being gratingly hippy high bullshit instead. CRINGEWORTHY.
lol… "I folded my laundry… TO THIS?!"
The trailer reminded me of Cloud Atlas, a movie that I loved, and it also made me think this movie wouldn't be good. Guess I was right. It's very hard to do movies about cosmic transcendence and empathy without succumbing to saccharine platitudes.
Rashida Jones did recently-ish do sci-fi, a devestating episode of Black Mirror. That's worth seeing.
There is a movie out right now in theaters sorry Jessica Chastain it's called dreams it's toxic baby girl meets love story with illegal immigrant who is a ballet dancer phenomenon
I'm sad. This shouldn't happen to Kate McKinnon.
Watching the trailer with such a mawkish over serious tone…but with Kate and Rashida… I was waiting for the SNL-esque punchline to drop… (Think "the actress" or "Papyrus" skits etc) It didn't… And I thought … Huh?
Kate McKinnon is pretty annoying. Watch her episode with Dave Chang (some travel show) and never want to see anything with her in it again
So kind of The Fountain and kind of Cloud Atlas and kind of everything Will Smith made in the 2010s?
Andrew Stanton is excellent directing television. Live action movies? Maybe he should really stick to TV.
Looks like an awful movie and you’ll never convince me y’all are dead inside!
The trailer looked pretentious. Turns out the movie is too. Will skip. Thank you Christy and Alonso!
I really enjoyed John Carter! A shame it flopped.
The trailer has the gnarly appeal of a child care product ad. If that doesn't turn viewers away? On a positive note, only 10 more movies to go and Kinnon's SNL fame will have worn off, and makers will realise what many viewers know already: not an actress suited for the format.
enjoyed this film. the idea of a seed being protected by these females and carried into the future was great. i guess some people are just too full of petty one-liners like this woman who's first comment is to dis the location fro no good reason. you have a bias. admit it.
I'm getting scores for two movies in one video? What a delight! 😄
The concept of 3 groups of people living in 3 different time frames that are interconnected is as Christy and Alonso indicated, an intriguing concept. I think that the creative team behind this movie chose the wrong format. This should have been a three season streaming anthology series. With each group and their time frame getting one season. You can expand the personalities. Learn to care about each group. Daveed Diggs does not have to be boring. By the end of the 3rd season, if the writing, acting and cinematography has remained at a high level then yes you will have a high concept (albeit quite long should one choose to binge-watch) film with characters that we know and care about.
This film is the essence of boredom. It has a chance, of winning some kind of award from the expert jury. :o)
people simply enjoys stupid productions such as Avengers' endgames , superman but when it comes to movies that motivates us to think ..no , no they dont want to think .. they want the same old story
Yeah, I don’t know. I have to say I actually kind of vibe with this movie.
Will you review Redux Redux?
You know a movie is bad when Cloud Atlas was better.
With all of the talent associated with this how did they manage to make it so boring. Every bit of it.
When your job is to watch movies and write reviews, you become kinda immune to certain emotional beats. Sentimentality is hard to ace, or to disguise as something less prepared or constructed. Doesn't mean you're in the wrong or that audiences are in the right. I work in the coffee industry and it's kinda the same to a degree. I see people enjoy poorly made coffee and cringe at it, but at the end of the day, the best cup of coffee is the one you enjoy most. Same with everything, I guess.
Thank you for a realistic and truthful review. I watched the trailer and I got a similar impression. I will not be watching it. Human condition 😂.
Luc Besson’s Bear was beautiful and hart braking.
John Carter was a very good movie. Such a gem buried in the pile of garbage.
Please don't hate me, but Daveed Diggs on screen is always boring, in my opinion. I don't know why, but even on Snowpiercer he was such a dud.
I really enjoyed this movie.
Hulu is the new graveyard for disappointing films featuring Kate McKinnon. Anyone remember The Roses?
This was such a limp and soft-headed film. Reminded me of one of those inert huge-budgeted series on Apple Plus that are often quietly cancelled after one season.
Should have been rated R for the sex scene with vibrator
C'mon! Life of Chuck was great! Unlke this borefest.
Wait why I Kate doing a serious movie, 😂isn’t she a snl comedian
