gas is incredibly expensive in germany. over half of rhe price is tax. for the past 4-5 years it averaged around the 1.65β¬ mark. that's about 6.25β¬ per gallon, or $7.24US.
still scooter/light motor cycle culture isn't as widespread as in italy or spain.
i used to own two cars, a yamaha r6 sport bike and a 125cc motorcycle. my school and work commute was done with the 125cc. due to being abled to pass traffic in the city, i was even faster than i would've been with the car, despite the thing maxin out in top speed at about 110kph (68mph) for the country roads between towns.
the thing sipped about 3liters per 100km, so 78mpg. insurance and registration tax was incredibly cheap too.
Damn bro really made it, got stuck in an airport terminal living off bringing carts back to the stand to get quarters for burgers. Now bro is pumping his own gas in his own car in the USA. What a fucking come up!
It seems like in modern times it would be hard as fuck to ride a scooter. Cars are just so much faster now and everybody drives like the last lap of nascar. Even driving some early 90βs vehicles in traffic I feel like it can be a challange
I made a little motor bike out of those cheap 100cc motors you can get for like $145 and slapped it on an old mountain bike. The thing gets like 120 mpg. I highly recommend getting a pull starter because that pedal startup is always really janky
Gas is finally over $5.00 a gallon where I live. Luckily, I work and grocery shop very close to home, that I've been riding around in an electric scooter since November. I've saved A LOT on gas since I owned that electric scooter. I can relate to this clip.
That first scene happened to me years ago when gas was over $4 Was filling up my bike that took 3.5 gallons. Next to me was a guy filling his GMC Yukon… he walked over and asked how much gas it took and where I worked. It was a solid 43 miles each way. 1 tank would get me up and back and up again for like $12. As his pump clicked into the hundreds… He just looked kind of sick and went back to his car.
