Ant McPartlin branded ‘icky’ by Dec as he opens up on marriage to Anne-Marie
Ant McPartlin was told to “keep it for the bedroom” by his best mate Dec Donnelly after he opened up about his marriage. Ant, who married his wife, Anne-Marie, in 2021, is ordinarily very private about his marriage, but shared a rare insight during a podcast episode.
Ant and Dec share a podcast called Hanging Out. In a recent episode, the two discussed Harry Styles’ new album Kiss All The Time Disco Occasionally, after which Ant revealed that he and his wife “do kiss a lot”.
“I do like kissing,” he said. “It’s one of the things to do.” He hurried to add: “My wife. The same person. I’m not just going around kissing loads of people.”

Dec appeared to be a little appalled by Ant’s admission and decided to break the tension with a joke: “I thought you were gonna stick one on us there.”
Ant continued to say that kissing “gets better as you get older”, but then noticed his friend’s uncomfortable face and asked him what it was for. His friend answered with a damning request: “I find this a bit icky. Just keep it for the bedroom.”
Despite the request, Ant ploughed on. He added that “people should just kiss more” and that “kissing’s great”. He encouraged Dec to think of the first kiss he had and reiterated that it got better with time.
Dec implored Ant to stop talking: “Keep it for the kitchen or wherever you do it, but don’t broadcast it to everybody!” He and Ant have been friends for almost 40 years.
Ant married Anne-Marie in 2021
Ant met his wife, Anne-Marie, when she started working for him as a personal assistant. The TV star had previously been married to make-up artist Lisa Armstrong for 11 years before they divorced in 2018.
He and Lisa recently suffered a loss as they had to say goodbye to their beloved dog, Hurley. The heartbreaking decision to put the chocolate Labrador to sleep was made after he had fallen ill.
Hurley was thought to be the last remaining tie between TV presenter Ant and Lisa. The pet was in a custody battle following the former couple’s divorce.
The Geordie presenter, 50, admitted the dog had helped him through tough times. He is said to have rushed out of a Britain’s Got Talent press conference to be with his beloved dog after finding out he was “too ill to recover”.
It was said to be the first time Ant and Lisa Armstrong saw each other since 2018 as they said a heartbreaking goodbye to their adorable Labrador dog. Ant and Lisa are said to have come together in a consulting room at a veterinary practice in west London, near to his home, putting their personal feelings aside.
