Tights are a wardrobe staple I’d prefer to never live without. I wear them most of the year, aside from during the very worst of a New York winter or the summer, of course.
Beyond everyday black pairs, I’ve been into wearing fun tights to make an otherwise minimalist outfit more interesting, like my favorite argyle ones from Swedish Stockings. As a result, I tend to pay attention to which tights are trending. Over the past couple of years, red tights were everywhere, and I’ve been spotting pink and purple popping up too.
And most recently, there’s been one micro-trend I keep seeing more than the rest—from the February runway shows to celebrities to fashion editors: white tights.
This season, I first noticed them at Copenhagen Fashion Week during the Caro Editions and Baum und Pferdgarten fall 2026 shows, a sign they’ll probably still be popular come September. Since then, I’ve seen Hunter Schafer wearing them to a Grammys after-party and noticed them repeatedly on fashion editors in street style photos throughout February’s fashion month. It also reminded me that a few people were already wearing them as early as last September during New York Fashion Week.
As someone who tends to err on the side of anti-trend dressing, I actually kind of enjoy tights trends since they’re low stakes and easy to incorporate into outfits. Shop the micro-trend below.
