    1. Before this moment, the off-duty officer noticed a Jeep sitting outside his home and walked over to ask the driver if he needed help. The driver, identified as Gregory Martin Hill, allegedly started yelling at him, backed up and hit a car and mailbox, then tried to run the officer over — crashing into a tree during the first attempt. The officer ran inside to grab his weapon and handcuffs, but when he came back out and tried to detain the driver, the man accelerated again and struck him with the Jeep, pushing him across the yard and running over his legs. The officer was taken to the hospital and released the same night, while Hill was arrested and charged with attempted murder with a $1 million bond.

    2. This happened in Decatur, AL. The driver of the jeep was arrested and held on a $1 Million bond and charged with attempted murder. Since the incident, the trial has been moved to continue until June.

    3. Is that guy shooting him? Christ if that happened in England it would probably have ended with everyone having a cup of tea. Shooting him seems a little extreme.

    4. all the people saying "this is why i always carry."
