Chappell Roan was filmed in an awkward situation with paparazzi after she repeatedly asked them to move away as she tried to go to dinner. She turned on her phone to record the situation, which quickly spread across social media.
In the video, Roan is heard asking the photographers to stop filming her and to move away. However, the photographers continued following her. She held up her phone to record the situation. She described it as dehumanizing.
“Disregarded as a human, this is what it’s like,” Roan says in the video. “So I’m just trying to go to dinner, and I’ve asked these people several times to get away from me.”
She calls out individual photographers in the video. She points out that one of the photographers is hiding his face because he felt embarrassed after being told many times to move away.
“This person I’ve asked several times to go away, and they will not,” she says. “These are all the people that are completely disregarding all of my boundaries.”
She continues to ask the crew to move away and stop following her as she makes her way towards the restaurant entrance.
“I’d like to ask you to please leave me alone kindly,” she says. “Stop following me.”
Despite her asking them to move away, the photographers continue shouting questions at her, such as what she is wearing and that she is a “fashion icon.”
In the video, Roan continues walking while holding her phone to record the situation. It is not easy being in the public eye.
