The world has been wondering when the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer is coming for the past few months. The calls began back in December when Marvel fans raised some eyebrows at the studio’s attempt to promote December 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday ahead of Spider-Man’s upcoming summer adventure and they have intensified since.
The leaked trailer didn’t help either, as fans were hoping that Sony and Marvel would replace the leaked footage with an official release. But December, Christmas, and even the Super Bowl came and went in that time, with fans particularly surprised by the studios’ decision to not promote either Brand New Day or Doomsday at the Super Bowl – breaking a near-two-decade-old Marvel Cinematic Universe tradition.
Now, however, there have been a number of updates since we’re coming up on the timeframe that a trailer should debut – or already should have in many people’s minds! And this one might be the most crucial of them all.
Sony reportedly filmed a Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer announcement
According to insider account juan on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Sony Pictures held an event in Mexico and filmed a Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer announcement with a bunch of Spidey cosplayers. This claim was then backed up by two veteran insiders. The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez quoted the post with “Yeah, he’s right” while scooper Cryptic4KQual, who simply responded “True”, which has single-handedly made fans incredibly excited at the prospect of the trailer coming in the next few days.
That said, there are some questions that fans have been asking in response. If Sony has indeed filmed this video in Mexico, could this be confirmation that the first trailer won’t be premiering until the CCXP Mexico even, which takes place between April 24 and 26. If so, that could place the expected trailer release back a month further than the previous reports suggested.

Right now, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer is expected to premiere sometime before the end of March, with some insiders predicting this coming week and others suggesting the last two weeks of the month instead. One theory, reported on by multiple insiders, has suggested that it will be releasing within the next 10 days as Sony plans to attach it to the theatrical release of Project Hail Mary.
Another report suggests that Sony plans on going big for CinemaCon, which would involve promoting the upcoming MCU film. And with that, they would like premiere any trailers / first looks there, perhaps with Tom Holland even present. If this were to be the case, that would make the likely date for the trailer’s release Monday, April 16.
However, if the newest update about a potential Mexico CCXP release are proven to be correct, that would place the inevitable release date for the trailer much later than expected. If it does end up premiering at the end of April, that would place it a whole month after its current expected release window. It would also give Marvel and Sony a marketing window of around 96-98 days, making it the latest first trailer debut of the MCU Spider-Man movies – and the third-latest of the whole MCU franchise as a whole (behind The Incredible Hulk’s window of 94 days and Thor: Love and Thunder’s window of just 81 days).

The silver lining here is that the smaller window of time between the first trailer and the film’s actual release showcases the confidence that Sony and Marvel has in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Granted, this is likely an attempt to avoid major spoilers from leaking out too early, but they wouldn’t have been able to pull this approach with a lesser-known superhero. At a time when the MCU needs another large-scale hit, the fourth Spider-Man movie will likely be that. And with that, don’t be surprised if the trailer is held until a later date to build the anticipation further.
There is a lot of anticipation for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The fact that it is beginning to rival Avengers: Doomsday in terms of hype and excitement without any marketing as of yet is a testament to Spidey himself and the MCU iteration of the character. Tom Holland’s webslinger is one of the most beloved aspects of the whole franchise and, as it has been almost five years since his most recent appearance (in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home), audiences are more than ready to see him on our screens again. Pairing him up with the likes of the Hulk and The Punisher is just the icing on that cake.
