We all will stand before God one day, whether we believe or not, doesn't make a difference. We will give an account to him for everything we've thought said and done, as he requires perfection to enter into his presence you and I fall short.
Exodus 20 tells us his moral law requirements.
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."
Looking to his ten commandments, we get an idea of how we're all guilty. No man or woman has kept all 10, he says breaking one is the equivalent of breaking all.
Because we have broken his law and are sinful, we deserve punishment as God is just, he can't let law breakers off the hook. He has stated that a literal lake of fire is prepared for all those who have sinned and this is eternal punishment, hell.
Because he demonstrates what love is, knowing we cannot become right with God, he did what was impossible for man to achieve, he did by sending his own Son to live the perfect life for us.
Jesus Christ shed his blood for the remission of our sins, died by crucifixion, was buried and risen from the grave on the third day.
If you repent which means change your mind by agreeing with God you've sinned against him and place your faith and trust in Jesus by belief in how he died for you. You will receive the free gift of eternal life, forgiveness and his righteousness to stand before God guiltless.
Tomorrow is not promised, either you pay for your sins or accept Jesus's offer to pay for yours.
You can't do anything to be saved, he did it all, it's your job to accept it and become Born Again!
