Alexandra Anna Daddario was born on March 16, 1986, in New York City. She was raised on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in a family with Italian, Irish, English, and Slovak heritage. Her father, Richard Daddario, served as a prosecutor and the NYPD’s counter-terrorism chief, while her mother, Christina, is a lawyer. Her siblings, Matthew Daddario and Catharine Daddario, are also actors, and her grandfather, Emilio Q. Daddario, was a U.S. congressman.

She decided to pursue acting at the age of 11 and began her career at 16 with a recurring role as Laurie Lewis on the ABC daytime soap opera “All My Children” (2002–2003). After attending Brearley School and the Professional Children’s School, she studied at Marymount Manhattan College while training in the Meisner technique.

Her breakthrough role was as Annabeth Chase in the fantasy adventure “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief” (2010) and its sequel “Sea of Monsters” (2013). She then diversified her portfolio across various genres: horror with “Texas Chainsaw 3D” (2013) as Heather Miller, disaster action with “San Andreas” (2015) alongside Dwayne Johnson, comedy-action with “Baywatch” (2017) as Summer Quinn, and drama with “The White Lotus” (2021), for which she received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.

Her other notable film credits include “Hall Pass” (2011), “Burying the Ex” (2014), “The Choice” (2016), “Can You Keep a Secret?” (2019), “We Summon the Darkness” (2019), “Wildflower” (2022), and voice work in “Superman: Man of Tomorrow” (2020) and “Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths” (2024). Her recent projects include the 2025 films “I Wish You All the Best” and “A Tree Fell in the Woods,” as well as the television series “Mayfair Witches” (2023–present), where she stars as Dr. Rowan Fielding.

On the personal front, Alexandra married film producer Andrew Form in June 2022, and they welcomed their first child in October 2024.
